Review // Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning Primer

While many of you may have been busy gettin' your tan on (naughty, naughty), the beautiful weather means that some of us pale-skinned girls are looking considerably paler in comparison. Not that I'm complaining about the weather! When I am in the mood to look a little more bronzed, I sometimes whip out the self tanner. Although I'm pretty confident with this now, I'm not quite brave enough to try putting it on my face, too. So I thought that it was high time I invested in a specific facial tanner. That's where the Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning Primer comes in.

The Clarins range has two facial tanners. Whilst the other is a gel that works overnight, this one is a gradual tanning sort of dealio. What's great about it is that it can be worn by itself for a natural glow, or underneath makeup as a primer. I have to say, I really like the way that my makeup looks when I wear this. It enhances dewy makeup, and my skin hasn't dulled at all by the time it comes to taking it off at night time. Plus, I'm yet to go orange!

Aethestically the packaging isn't bad, although it is pretty annoying that you have to use a finger to scoop out the product. Ewww! The formula is a little unusual, it has a super thick yet whipped sort of consistency. Despite this, it blends really well into the the skin and leaves it smooth. The downside? The strong almond scent. This sometimes leaves me feeling a bit like I'm rubbing marzipan into my face, but hey, maybe you're into that? I personally prefer not to use anything fragranced on my skin. I pop this on every couple of days all over my face, neck and chest to keep an even, realistic tan going. So far, so good!

For £19 I think this is a lovely purchase. It will certainly serve me well over the summer months,

Do you use a facial self tanner?

I'm using the same self tanning! I really like it because just after applying it you skin looks better than before. But I've never used it as a primer, I'm going to try this out! Thanks for the tip :)
