Review // Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

Boy oh boy was Santa kind to me this year. I am planning on sharing a few relevant gifts with you in a few days, but this really deserves a post of its own. The Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lip Balm (£9.50) was first drawn to my attention in a video by Lisa Eldridge who said that it was a wonderfully matte balm, making it perfect to place on the lips before lipstick, and I have to agree.

The balm has a thick, waxy consistency which smoothes out instantly when applied to the lips. It almost melts into the skin, leaving your pout looking perfectly moisturised; there's no shiny, greasy layer of product sitting on top. It does just feel like my own lips. Even when I apply this at night my lips feel deeply moisturised in the morning, and there's still traces of product on my lips which makes me feel like it's been allowed to gradually sink in, rather than creating an artificial illusion of moisture.

Its texture when on your lips is ever so slightly tacky, but it's not at all sticky or unpleasant. This is especially true as the product has a very distinct, yet entirely non-offensive orange scent. I'm definitely going to be prepping my lips with this for a while in place of my regular nipple cream (explained here). If I put this on at the start of my makeup routine, then I don't even have to dab any off before effortlessly gliding on my next lip product.

You'll all know about my recent endeavors to introduce more natural ingredients to my skincare and makeup collections, and this product fits into that perfectly. Rêve de Miel contains no parabens or mineral oil, which are ingredients that Nuxe as a brand tries to avoid. Nuxe actually comes from the French words 'Nature' and 'Luxe' (luxury) combined, which suits my style perfectly. There are so many other aspects of the company that interest me so I'm now really keen to try some more of their products! Watch this space...

This lip balm will certainly last me a while, and the glass tub just looks so beautiful sat on my counter top! I don't think I could be much happier with this product.

*UPDATE* This product is currently on offer at Feel Unique for just £7.60!

I love all the Nuxe products I've tried so far. And although I thought this balm was fab, my fave of the lot was the dry-oil spray :D

I've never tried a more 'luxury' lip balm but I've heard oh so much about this one! I've been using the Nivea Lip butters lately which have been nice but maybe it's time to splurge...
