Two Christmas Day Makeup Looks

It's not long at all now until Christmas Day... Whilst some of you may have your red lip or silver smokey eye all sorted for Christmas day, I know that others are a little more reserved when it comes to makeup. I tend to sit in between these two categories, and so I thought that I would dedicate a post to some slightly more toned down looks that I thought would be perfect for Christmas Day. I don't like to doll myself up too much when I'm just around my family, but I enjoy wearing makeup for me, so I thought I'd put together a couple of looks for some Christmas inspiration if you're a bit like me. These looks can be played up or down or can have the colours altered to suit any event or style.
Enjoy!

Look The First

This first look is the most simple, and I'm a big fan of all of the products that I used. I went for a very neutral eye with some autumnal/wintery colours on the cheeks and lips. If you want to recreate this then put a taupey pink colour across the lid and follow up with a midtoned brown in the crease. I also dragged the bronze colour along my lower lash line and put a little of the frosty gold in my inner corner to open up the eye area. I decided to go without liner for this look but put a little glowy blush on my cheeks and my Revlon Lip Butter on my lips. This lip product is ideal for topping up on the go, especially if you plan to eat a lot on Christmas Day - and if you don't, then you're weird.

Look The Second

I absolutely love this look. It definitely works for more than just Christmas, but the golden tones suit the festive season perfectly. The colours for this look are still kind of neutral, but the intensity and longevity of the eyeshadows really make it appropriate for party wear. I used the two gold colours on the right-hand side of the picture; the warmer gold in the crease and the cooler one over the lid. This look definitely needed some liner so I went for black on the top lashes and my Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes pencil underneath. After some pinky blush, I finished up with my favourite YSL lipstick.

Although I have lots of ideas, I'm sure I'll still wake up on Christmas morning and (if I decide to put on any makeup at all) will go with whatever I feel like on the day. For those of you traveling to meet friends or family, hopefully this will have given you some ideas if you're going to be in a rush on the morning. I for one know that I can't wait!

How are you going to wear your makeup for Christmas Day?
